Let’s start with the basics. Are you playing Minecraft or is anyone else in your household playing Minecraft. Let us know what you are doing or what they are doing.

I started playing Minecraft this summer, mainly to see what my kids were doing. (My kids = my students... my "kids" at home are two rabbits and a three legged dog). I got hooked instantly. It was Minecraft PE though, so after a while I got bored. I built a huge house with a swimming pool, harvested a bunch of stuff, planted a garden, gathered some animals. I think if I wasn't playing PE and was able to hit villages and multiplayer, I would probably be more into it.

I poked around with the free version the other day, but wasn't all that impressed. I couldn't figure out how to gather anything other than grass seeds and flowers, and couldn't build anything at all. I should probably go find a tutorial, but I was led to believe that Minecraft was fairly easy to get started with so I was kinda disappointed.

I will admit I hadn't realized you could mod Minecraft using Java, so I may try to look into that more (probably won't be until summer tho...too much on my plate right now). Beyond that tho, just too many other things I'm more interested in right now.

blueAppaloosa, the free version is pretty useless. I only got interested once I put up the six bucks to get all the materials and access to the reactor thing that takes you into the weird world. Then you have all these projects, hunting for diamonds and the like!

Yeah, I thought that might be the case. Eventually I might shell out for one of the paid versions (it's not that expensive), but I don't really need another distraction right now. :)
