I live in Nagoya, Japan (originally from Wisconsin) and teach in Ohkagakuen University's English immersion program. I am also a doctoral student in Pepperdine's educational learning technologies program. I have been using tech in my lessons for a few years now and recently have tried to incorporate games. I have been slowly shifting my lessons to a more 'game-like' environment to increase participation, enjoyment and help improve student's 21st century learning skills. Presently I teach a seminar course and next semester I plan to use the shivtr guild along with The Sims 3: World Adventures in my course. I am looking forward to learning more on what I can or can not do so I do not repeat other's mistakes and build upon their accomplishments.
Other interests: educational neuroscience, traveling, reading, and spending time with my family.
