This one just might be the MOOC that pulls me out of that role, traditional for me as I am spread out over many virtual worlds and only seldom reaching deeply into any of them or any game. I was initially drawn into all this by Active Worlds, then Second Life, and in the meanwhile my gaming was limited to completion of pretty much anything featuring Lara Croft and then Red Dead Redemption. I have delved into several other games but none has nailed me like those, yet, anyway.
Dear friends in CogDis have seen me manfully deprive them of my collaboration and participation over the years. There's only so much of me/us. Which brings me to my only this very morning discovered sig tagline, which I shamelessly borrow from the Beatles but will incorporate elsewhere after the MOOC, I'm sure.

I am he and he is me...
Welcome and shameless borrowing is, as Martha Stewart says, "A good thing." I do it all the time. Mostly Machiavelli, which gives you a little insight into my personality ;) I know how you feel, in the beginning of video or PC gaming there were not many and everyone played them and alone, once the internet became robust, it was like a kid in a candy store for me and I overdosed on those dark chocolate covered marshmallows and rocky road clusters. I got so involved and then realized I have a real life too. As much as I enjoyed the guild in Startrekonline, Hawkye (who is in this MOOC) and I were in the same one, it really took hours for the guild, posting, meetings, and that was months before the game was ever released. The game itself was not as good as expected and shortly after launch the guild disbanded. I now play basically "pick up" go in and find some other players trying to complete the same quest.
Glad to see you here, and here is a link to our advertisement to get players when were active. We had a lot of work in that virtual world.
