Greetings,
I am very excited to be "here" with all of you. I have only light gaming experience facebook games, simcity etc. I have designed and used face-to-face simulation games for learning for quite a few years. Sometime these have had computer support for feedback on decisions made by the players such business simulation types of activities. I am also a member of the North American Simulation and Gaming Association. It has been around for 50 years. The focus historically has been face-2-face simulations, games, and other types of active learning. I hope to expand my abilities in the online world(s) and look forward to the experience that I see in the intros.
I have participated in two MOOCs, one called PLENK2010 was connectivist in approach. The other one was nicknamed BONKOPEN. This one was done in Blackboard coursesites. It was more traditional in its approach to learning. I really like the approach here of using the guild site to explore gaming. Brilliant idea, thanks to the guild officers and consigliere for a great playing field.
