My primary gaming activity is modern board games. I did an online series for about 5 years about board games called Board Games with Scott and like to get together regularly with people to explore modern board games.

I appreciate the slower pace of board games, as it gives me a chance to engage with the people I'm playing with in a way I can't do when playing a time-critical video game.

If you haven't seen the world of modern board games, take a look at games like Dominion, Ticket to Ride, or the Settlers of Catan.

Hi Scott,
I'm a big fan of board games and card games too. I love old-school board games like Scrabble and Monopoly but also love Tip of Your Tongue, Pictionary, Dumb Ass, Cranium and anything that tests my brain whilst playing a game. I tend to get competitive lol. My favourite card games are Poker and Phase 10, Canasta and Bolivia. I have made a few board games when I was a kid that's how much I love them so its interesting doing this MOOC and thinkning about how games can be integrated with learning more. I would love to be more into games now but haven't got into online gaming heaps and dont get a chance to play board games much with friends at present. Thanks for your suggestions though.

Haven't played a board game in ages!
Our family friends who we used to play with moved away, and that was that. A board game for two isn't as much fun :)
Last game we played as Carcassone and Settlers of Catan. Monopoly may have been there too.

Big fan of board games myself, especially the recent glut of co-ops like Pandemic, LOTR the card game, Arkham Horror, and so on. Dominion is a great game, Settlers very 'new gamer friendly' too...
