G'day all,

I am Carlin, in my second year teaching secondary school math and science. New to the education game, but love it already but know where problems exist.. particularly with engagement.

I have only just found this MOOC and already been through the posted videos and content (Great work btw admins :)) and also still new to the whole edmodo site as well.

I am constantly trying to develop engaging Learning content and find the 3D RPG games to be the most effective with students. How I can convince a school to go ahead with game purchases like World of Warcraft will be a veyr interesting battle indeed. (If only we could modify the world of warcraft quests to be subject specific... one can dream)

Look forward to what the MOOC will bring :)

Hi Carlin,

Welcome! As far as WoW to be modifiable in game - well we're not there yet.
But there is a group of teachers at WoW in Schools who have developed curriculum http://wowinschool.pbworks.com/f/WoWinSchool-A-Heros-Journey.pdf

Members of the Cognitive Dissonance WoW Educators guild are also in the process of the development more quantitative based curriculum.

We talk alot more about this in week 2 - COTS and MMORPGs. We'll also see if anyone is willing to do a recon of portal for us and report back. http://www.thinkwithportals.com/media_19.php

Hi glad to see you. We have quite a few from Australia, and when we did a global conference presentation on Second Life and Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) I noticed a presence of educators from Australia.
