We have been using Google Hangout this whole course. It is a component of all three of the Badges you can earn. So go ahead and take a practice run. So go ahead and make a 2-5 screencapture of gameplay in Google Hangout to share!
Let us know if you would like comments or critique. And remember be brave!
I had some fun with this! I went through and created a new character in WoW, complete with LeeDale snarky voiceover. I apologize for the length of the video (8 minutes), but about 3 minutes of it is the introductory video for the Blood Elves, so you get to see some pretty pans of virtual landscaping. :-D
This was really good practice for me because I typically use screencapture software and manually upload the YouTube. Google Hangout is a pretty slick app, though.
NOTE: For those of you who haven't made your first screen capture live feed YouTube video, here is just a nice link with very clear written instructions. Do pay attention to #6 of the instructions, that red 'start broadcast" bar (button) is near your name in the upper right of your screen. Took me a while to find it when I started. Hope this helps you complete this requirement. Of course, you find the "end broadcast" in the same location. The video shows just a black screen for a while until it loads, that is normal! There is also a 10 second delay from "pushing the start broadcast button" and when the recording starts, that is a nice feature. Gives lead time.
I play Magic the Gathering and there is a good backstory, the graphics are really solid in the backstory I also really like the fantasy art that is part of Magic the Gathering. This video has a rather "garbled" sound track, as my new webcam microphone was picking up from external speakers. However, in reality he speaks in a voice that sounds like he is in a 55 gallon drum.
The backstory is Gideon has destroyed his world and the fought the people like he had become to restore it, he won all his battles, until he was finally defeated, but he met others like himself that can walk planes (planeswalkers) and he did something no one else has been able to do, he made allies of his enemies.
I particularly like this game because of the concepts of magic, religion, mana, and all the intricate strategy to play your cards at the right time and defeat your enemies. Here is the 3 on 1, where there are the three of us at 20 lives trying to defeat a planeswalker who starts with 40.
This is a longer video, 13 minutes, but I have slowed down my play so I can talk about the cards, the "abilities of the cards" and let you see them, we only got through turn five, these games seldom go over about turn 15. I have been defeated by some really good players on turn three!
I always like it when I am trying something new and you are, to show one that isn't perfect, it encourages those who are new to go ahead and show what you have, in reality it is probably better than this one. . .
So jump in and show us whatcha got! The water is fine!
