Hello all,

My name is Stevon, but please call me Eschrichtius or Steve (like Minecraft Steve! Really!). I work as an instructional media coordinator for Oregon State University. I'm not a programmer, but I love games and especially STORY, and so my quest is to connect with like-minded people who are looking for someone to bounce story ideas off of, or do play tests, or rant about bad interfaces, or whatever.

Who else here DOESN'T skip past cut scenes in videogames?

(add me on Twitter if you like)

Hi Steve, ha I recognize that diamond pick (It is a diamond pick, right?) I skip past all the hoopla in Magic the Gathering, saw all of it once, so now it is "jump to play" and I have played Minecraft quit a bit, especially last summer as we are working to do an immersion with everyone who wants to play in our MOOC IV this summer, I think Hawkye and the Grasshopper98 will be there to greet you. Which is your favorite world in Minecraft if you are playing solo? I happen to like the Arctic world but it is hard to find cactus... talk about Fiero (and we do here) that does it for me! I also like my dog pack, up to about nine of them. Do think about checking out the weekly tweetchats on Wednesday nights. (see news item) and the twitter feed in the right column of the page. I am not a programmer either so looking for anything that are games I can use or sites where it is "Build a Game for Dummies" (smile)...

Thank you, Grasshopper. My favorite Minecraft map right now is the one I'm hosting on my own server, with a bunch of floating isles hovering in space (I'll post an image in the unsorted gallery). It's an older map generator (Mystical Islands) that doesn't create the newer biomes (or structures). I'll keep watching the forums, but if you get a server up and running and don't see me after a few days (eschrichtius), send me a message or something. Thanks for the reply! I'll mostly be lurking, but I'll find ways to contribute if I just can't keep quiet about particular topics! :D

Hi Steve,

Absolutely stay to watch the cut-scenes and cinematics! Actually am part of a guild where we have that in our write-up. We state if that would interfere with the quality of your gameplay then we may not be the correct guild for you.

A number of us are involved in making Machinima. But it is "Machinima 4 Mere Mortals." We working on the ISTE SIGVE EduMachinima Fest 2013. We're not great at it and our intention is really to show the learning that happens in games and virtual worlds. If you decide to do any Machinima yourself please submit it.
