Hi all,
This is not my first day I have been trying to figure out how to be part of the group and the light came on, I had to sign in. Ya I'm a little slow. Any how my mission is to lurk around and see what this MOOC is all about. I teach at a community college and am trying to make my online classes more interactive. All ready I have found a lot of information and look forward to the class/MOOC.

Cheers,
Greg

Welcome Greg, always good to lurk. Yeah signing in is good ;) I teach at a community college too, face-to-face as well as online. I have done a few things with my online class, I had my cultural anthropology class go on a "self-guided field trip" to used stores, garage sales, auctions... etc., and look for "cultural artifacts" then take a picture of it, do research on line as to what it is, then post it in a discussion and we all could discuss how it was used and what contribution it made to the culture at the time. We were mostly looking for antiques or odd objects, like a hand held corn shucker [ basically leather to strap on your hand with a hook that was in the palm so you could pull it down the husk] for example. They had a grand time trying to find the oldest most obscure artifact to stump the rest of the class. If they couldn't go out in real life, they could use the internet. Glad you signed in! :)

Hi
I am new here, I wanted to get a badge but as I started late I will just lurk this time. I am interested in creating my own games with ready made tools.
I teach at university and secondary school where I use mobile devices and games. Since I am the only teacher doing that, it would be nice to exchange ideas and learn more from similar minded colleagues.
Bye

I would message Kae about the badge, I am not sure how they work those deadlines, you will find a lot of like-minded people here. This week (WEEK 3) do look at the forums as there are forums regarding augmenting reality and interactive fiction, the WEEK 2 forums which are also still available for posting has interesting thread n the subject too. So lurk all you want :) or join in. This is a great group and thank you so much for joining us!

Welcome Vidic, yes, true happiness, well at least a lot of interesting areas and ideas to explore and that makes me happy too! We always love help. Technology is changing at such a rapid rate and we want to implement it into our classrooms (be they face-to-face or onilne) and we look forward to your contributions and our interaction with you! :)

That is what I really like about being part of the MOOC, while we have facilitators and experts, there are those who are just starting out. This is a safe and wonderful place to ask questions and to see what others are doing and how it could be used in your classrooms. So glad you are here participating with us.

We are so glad to see the new members, it is fun to look at what we have already done, it can be seen on the MOOC I and MOOC II tabs at the top. We have had this MOOC going since last Summer and it will continue through this summer. I think the fact we all love games, love education, love learning and love teaching brings us together in a common cause. Thank you for joining.
