Well my mind is blown. I downloaded the app for Spacecraft 3D and printed the marker. And up pops the little Mars rover in all it's glory for me. I just giggled. And that was my first AR experience. Then seeing the videos for SCVNGR and Aurasama, I just want to see more. I have a feeling like some of the brilliant educator minds are going to create some really incredible Aurasam campaigns for all content areas. I'm just trying to get my brain around it.

When I showed the kids the spacecraft app they were impressed but hadn't heard of the Mars Rover missions (what?). So I think I might start there. Planets, and our space missions as a game with one of these products.

I want to run up and down the hallways and tell everyone all that I have learned from this MOOC but the teachers here aren't all that forward thinking with curriculum or technology. But I can share with the kids!
A skilled teacher knows that technology implementations won't have any impact as long as you try and retrofit them on to outdated teaching methods. Only when combined with the creativity and ingenuity of dedicated teachers can technology have a truly disruptive and transformative effect. "

Awesome! Let us know how it goes. I wish there was a way to do something "Aurasama"-like but with AR. Aurasama tends to use pre-recorded video, though, instead on-the-fly AR.

For others who might be interested, here's a screenshot from a Spacecraft 3D site:

WHAT. You are kidding me. See, this is why we need to put an emphasis on space exploration again. We have entirely too few colonies on Mars for the 21st century.
Here's to all the educated people who don't hate games!

I am going to try out the 3d space app tomorrow & may just demo it for one or two of my classes even though it has nothing to do with anything I am teaching right now lol. Just think it's cool. :)
To each his own game ;)
