So that we get an idea of the mix in the community, please let us know if you identify as any of the following

Maker ( what do you make?)

Hacker ( reverse engineering, white hat of course)
Do you script? code?

Gamer, Modder, Minecraft Builder

Builder in Second Life or other virtual world?
Maker of videos
Machinimista/Machinimatographer

Do you curate your creations? Are you willing to share the site or link?

Of course also please share a picture or screenshot with us. Flickr works best for this site if you want to show the picture in the post. Here's a link, that shows you how to do it.

And if you are so inclined, please share social media where we can follow you and your work!

I self-identify as a hacker in the sense that I like to hack educational practices. I like experimenting with mixing and remixing traditional pedagogy and analog (physical, material) student work with 21st century/hybrid pedagogy and virtual student work.

Right now, I'm trying to learn how to be a game designer and completely turn one of my classes into an RPG, so in that sense I'm trying to become a maker.

I do game, although not as much as I'd like to due to workload and family. I enjoy playing Minecraft with my son (when I can get him to stop playing Call of Duty!).

Like Neo in the Matrix, I kind of feel like I have spent most of my life asleep. I don't think I have been either a Maker, a Hacker OR a Gamer until relatively recently. I have been a consumer. Interestingly, I don't know that I learned much about my own agency in this regard until relatively late in life.

At present, I wouldn't know how to classify myself other than this: I am a connector and an enabler. I see the need to hack education with a making and a gaming philosophy. I currently try to enable hacking the education system and have recently proposed my very own hack of the Alberta Design Studies Curriculum! (Message me if you are interested in knowing about that).

So, even though I don't fit nicely into these areas, I think I will make my own designation as I go (which, I suppose, is the point!)

badbbudha0, I am an art teacher in Alberta, so let me know if you want to chat about curriculum hacks!

I *think* I identify as a maker. I've resdesigned my class as a sort of RPG, and I tend to run with things (possibly before totally thinking them out).

If you're interested, my blog is at http://www.gamifymyclass.blogspot.ca

I totally want to connect about curriculum hacks. You are more familiar with the curriculum I intend to hack than I am...so this is fortuitous!

I'm Scott, by the way. You can find out more about me HERE.
