The course is divided into six weeks. Each week will have similar activities. The focus of Week 1- 3 is learning about Apps, AR and ARGs. Week 4 - 6 focuses on developing a game or game project using what we looked at in the first weeks.
Week 1 is the introduction to the course, where we'll look at a few of the concepts that we will discuss no matter what week we are in.
Please start by introducing yourself! We'd like to know who you are (It''s also a requirement if you will be pursuing any of the badges.)
Then, please take a look at our weekly activities.
1) Readings, Video and other Resources
Each week for readings, video and other resources we will list core and advanced.
Under the Mission Central forum, we'll have at least one discussion on the core reading and additional discussions on the advanced resources. There will also be a weekly discussion called "Report from the Front" asking you what game, game related or other news or educational product you'd like to share with us.
3) Live Events
East week, we have at least two live events. These are optional. Any event done through the Games MOOC YouTube channel will be recorded. The #gamemooc tweetchat will not be curated unless one of the participants choose to do this and share it with the Games MOOC.
Any additional webinars or other live events offered by other organizations that are related to the Games MOOC will also be listed if we know about them in advance. If it's a "Just-In- Time" event, it will be announced in News and go up on the Events Calendar.
In general if you aren't pursuing a badge please take a very connectivist approach to this open course - skim the material to get a basic understanding; then pick what you find interesting, intriguing or contentious to look at further. Then please tell us what you think and what you'd like to discuss further. Post in the forum or write it up on your own blog and post in discussions.
